    Camping Sites

    There are thousands of places to camp in the US. Many of the camp sites around the US are located in state parks. There are over 45,000 places to camp within the state parks. When camping in a state park there are a few rules to follow. Camping is only permitted in places that are specifically provided or marked. Be considerate of other campers by observing the quiet hours which are between 10PM and 6AM. You cannot camp for longer than 14 consecutive days. By following these simple rules and others that may be set at certain locations, you and the other campers with be sure to have an enjoyable stay.

    The following is a list of some of the camp sites throughout the US, with a description and other things about them.

    • Pineknot, CA-Pineknot is located in the San Bernardino mountains at an elevation of 6,900 feet and near Big Bear Lake. The campground is in a fir, pin and oak forst by a ski area. It is 5 miles from marinas and watre recreation areas. The roads are paved and rstrooms are provided. Each site includes a fire ring and BBQ grill. There is hiking, fishing, sight-seeing, shopping and mountain biking activities.
    • Osceola Vista Campground, NH-Only open between May-October, this campground is located near Waterville Vallley Resort which offers nightlife, summer concert tours, horseback riding, canoeing, mountain bike rentals, restaurants and shops. Showers and evening programs are located 10 miles away at Campton Campground.
    • Poole Knobs, TN-OPen from May until October,Poole Knobs Campground is located 15 miles from Nashville on J. Percy Priest lake. Ameneties include hot showers, boat launch, dump sation, and public phones. Many kinds of wldlife can be seen including white-tailed deer, skinks and raccoons.
    • St Lucie South, FL-This campsite is located on the St. Lucie Canal portion of the Okeechobee Waterway. Offers RV rentals and tent sites. Other ameneties include hot showers, publc phones, boat ramp, playground and a shelter.
